Yale is founded in the United States in 1844 by Linus Yale (Connecticut). Yale is one of the oldest forklift truck manufacturers that is still currently active on the market. ACQUISITION

In 1985 Yale Materials Handling Corporation is acquired by the American company NACCO industries (North American Coal Corporation). After years of growth Nacco Materials Handling Group becomes the largest forklift manufacturer in the World with a total export of more than 700,000 trucks a year. A year earlier Nacco Industies Inc. already acquirerd Hyster. In1995 the decision is made that Hyster will operate as an independent brand. Nowadays Hyster/Yale is one of the top 5 manufacturers in the world. Yale and Hyster are both two top brands in the market of forklift trucks.
